In my time since being muslim i have been giving dawah for around 4-5 yrs of it, i took shahada in 2010 and embraced islam 2012. My time as a daee has taught me alot! Like how we should approach non muslims in a way that is comfortable for them, how many religions open to islam, how muslims themselves need guidance and reminders! The sad reality we face is we want jannah but are not willing to work for it. We are quick to say we are MUSLIM when we are asked but try even harder to FIT in the the crowd! I am nowhere near perfect but i do try my hardest to adhere to the message of rasoolullah saw where he says we should want more for our brothers then we want for ourselves!!! And with this understanding i approach dawah, and life in general which i think we all can benefit and help others. People ask me if Dawah is Hard?
I respond with “Do you know enough about your religion to share it with others” according to the Prophet Muhammad pbuh we only need to convey a single ayat or verse”Convey from me even if it is a single verse”. and Allah swt has commanded that we Allah says in the Holy Quran: Chapter 16, Surah An-Nahl Ayat 125:
Invite to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent admonition and argue with people in the best manner. Your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Way and who is Rightly guided.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 110:
110 Ye (believers) are the best of peoples evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right forbidding what is wrong and believing in Allah.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 66 Surah Tahreem verse 6:
O you who have believed, save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel shall be men and stones; over which shall be appointed fierce and stern Angels, who never disobey Allahs Command, and they only do as they are commanded!
Calling to Islam is Not for the Faint hearted you will have many Heated conversations ,meet many aggressive people, meet many arrogant people and most of all IGNORANT people however, If we remember certain RULES with our approach we can surely end on a high note or with success(SHAHADA)
And these rules are as follows……

Wisdom in your approach, Identify the person you are about to speak with do they give any signals whether its EGO, ATTITUDE, ARROGANCE, KINDNESS, and general INTEREST

Ego ,your approach should be assertive and concise the aim here is to grab their interest so they are wanting to ask you questions and when you can break the ice with this individual then you can move forward.

ATTITUDE, This individual is not in the slightest bit interested, however you may be able to Break the ice with a separate discussion about their own interest? By doing this it opens the person to dialogue which then you could bring into the conversation topics related to islam
Then you can move forward

ARROGANCE, Now almost every time you will get a person like this who is very DEVOUTin his or her belief. They can be religious or not depending on the person however they are very strong in their beliefs, so with these individuals it is required you have some notes prepared and or researched regarding their interest relating to conversation. From here you can always relate any topic to islam in someway which grabs the attention of this individual, once you have broken ice you can move forward.

KINDNESS, These individuals are not wanting to hurt your feelings so they are willing to listen
But you will find with the right conversation it will develop their own interest for which you can move forward.

INTEREST, these people are very simple providing you remember to stay on topic and not get confused so then you may move forward

2. Know and understand what you are talking about, so here its not about knowing everything from quran and hadith, bible or any other scripture no, what we are referring to is common sense, logic and tawhid. We know their is only 1 god but do they? Do they want to know? Are they interested to learn about this? What do they believe? You see when we can understand the person we are talking with we can understand their point……. Now we can come at them with What we know about what they said and what we want to say about this from Allahs point of view

3. Never think you are wasting your time!, remember every second of your effort is counted as good rewards this is why we call it INVESTING not VOLUNTEERING, it may seem like your conversation is going nowhere but with the right amount of patience and persistence you should be able to get through to just about anyone depending on MOOD as mentioned in rule 1
Another note is that for every person that rejects you ALLAH writes it up as they had accepted ISLAM from your efforts allahu akbar. Which is why i suggest taking books, qurans ,flyers and pamphlets home with you, since any person you give these to you will recieve that same reward subhanallah.
